I can understand how you feel Wes, I dont agree with what they've said either, but from a club perspective i think that we should have done what we could to help out. I Reckon it would have been in the club's best interest to have the positive media exposure that it could potentially have been. |
I agree Tiny would have been in the best interest for the club.
If you tell someone you have a monaro what model do they all think you have ? I bet a HK-T-G if your really lucky a HQ.
Same deal with those F**d things everyone owns a Phase3, thats all the public remembers-sorry but not all good things are remembered.
Guys....a few cars have been found from outside the club that used to be members. Now chasing a HZ GTS!
What a childish dummy spit! Sorry if that offends anyone.
Vince.
Hey Vince
Remember the trophy Hunters and Points chasers argument?
Tell me I'm wrong.

Not offended Vince & yes it's a dummy spit & a good one at that & I hope that our members got involved but not to include the HJ is a bloody joke.
When they do the Torana edition on it's aniversary I guarantee you they won't leave out the A9X!!!!!!!!
As for them only wanting the Bathurst winning models then there were only 2 - 1969 HT & the 2003 24 Hr cars - Sorry Pete but they made their intentions quite clear - They do not consider the HJ to be of consquence.
I'll tell you this if it was decided not to include the HK or HQ all hell would've broken loose with the owners of those models.
Oh well as previously stated - their loss.
To those who are annoyed about my whinge - I've got two words for you to end my comments on this subject - TOUGH SH-T !!!!!!
Wes
Well done, comments taken in the spirit in which they were made, good for you.

Wes, I can bet that when they do the torana one... they wont include the UC!
Oh that's right.. theyre not of racing pedigree anyway.
But honestly, My point was only that i hope the club did not waste what MAY BE a good PR opporunity and i think that's what ANY club needs! Good PR!
Cheers.
Thanks Geoff - I can take a bagging - I am a soccer referee so I get bagged by the professionals so amateurs are not a problem.
Tiny - So do I.
Sorry Wes but A HK-T would never be left out the first monaros as for a HQ its only the popularity of that model, but HQs would have been a great bathurst car but Peter Brock could not drive one.
Only a joke

Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't the HK also win Bathurst. It is understandable that they chose the cars they did; the early models just to show what Holden was capable of and the HQ to show the depths that they had sunk to. The Monaro dream was over by the HQ sadly.

...he will not be including the HJ in his story. |
At least they included a HJ owner
No offence Etruscan but BIG DEAL!!!!!
Gentlemen...
As The Big Guy said, "this article was about GTS not MONARO"
It was an interesting thing on the 2nd day of the Photo Shoot i turned up in My HJ Coupe (Support for the HT owner) as the HK was only needed the First Day and the photographer said Geeeee it would have been good to have this car on the Photo Shoot run to Bathurst...
So Wes, they don't think to Badly of Our: RARE HJ COUPES
Also there was a few varied reasons why they only had "5" GTSs in the Article,
they actually wanted 7 GTSs..
Either way.. HOLDENS RULE..
