(This topis started in the Introduction forum, and has been moved here. Sorry if it's a bit disjointed, but hopefully you'll get the idea. Cheers - Forum Admin)

Thanks for the kind words guys, in answer to the Prez. A full track hire at WSID can be costly unless you have around 50 plus entrants, still well over $200 ea. What we have been doing for clubs at the Wed nite Street meets is giving them a lane and they can all pair off together. That way the cost is still only $45 and you can race your mate.
Would need about 20 to confirm and then we just advise John at the track and the jobs done.

Nostalgia event Sunday April 23.
Swap Meet Sunday April 2
Nitro Champs Test N Tune Saturday April 29
Snap-On Tools Nitro Champs Friday May 6 & Saturday May 7

We have just about finished the 06-07 dates and when they have been ratified I will give you the next lot of Nostalgia dates plus Holden V Ford.
Thanks Guys

Take it easy Pen, it was a joke, drag night, guys dressed in women's clothing, you know, cross dressers, you racing in womens clothing biggrin.gif ph34r.gif

Back on topic, might be a good "social" night for club members to attend, support those members racing, open for any to attend but not an official outing, kinda like the summer breakfast cruise. Guess I should have raised this in another thread, thanks again Geoff.

As far as I am concerned bud, more that welcome, in fact I, for one would enjoy yours and Simmone's company once (or more frequently) again. I think the only objections to non-club members attending 'sanctioned' club events would be on the public liability issues which you are already well aware of and have indicated understanding about.

As far as this event is concerned, it would probably be a 'mates' event, if it was organised, which I hope it is. I have seen and heard that machine of yours go and there would be a few nervous drivers lining up against you, a certain blue one comes immediately to mind, in a straight line in legal and controlled conditions. wink.gif

As far as joining up with the club is concerned, c'mon, hurry up, what's keepin ya? smile.gif

Sorry for conducting personal business on your intro thread Geoff but you have certainly generated some interest and I thank you for that!!!!!

Hey, no problem at all.
If there was enough interest (and with the Prez blessing) it would be a fun Wednesday nite at a street meet.
As I said need about 15-20 cars, cost is $45.00 ea plus $15.00? for spectators/ crew guys etc.

The deal starts at 6.00 pm and runs till 10.00 pm, you get about 4-6 passes, surprising how hard it really is.

Gates open at 4 pm but if we committed I can organise the entrys so we dont miss out. We stop entrants at most events at 180 cars, plus the 4-6 for the burnouts.

Anyways it could be a bunch of fun (and you will get to race your mate) and you won't get busted for being a hoon.

Tiny. sounds good to me.
Can I ask someone in the club who has some authority to hijack this deal and see if something can happen.
Having been drag racing for 30 years I can tell you "it IS the most fun you can have with your pants on"
To make it more fun (challenging) I would be prepared to put up a Die Cast 1/24 scale drag racing model for the racer with the best reaction time on that day.

I'd need a bit of advance warning cause I work Wed nights..... otherwise I might have to feel a bit ohmy.gif

Tiny- 02-16-2006
Awesome stuff... I'd love to come along!

Ive only been drag racing for a short time.... my first runs were back in feb last year! But ive always enjoyed the sport and love to take my car out for a run!

It woudl be unreal to come along and race with fellow monaros, would make for a great sight! I guess weve just gotto plan it out so that everyone interested can be there on the night chosen!

Cheers!

I'd attend but not drag my baby - I sit & watch.

Geez I might even torque up my clutch for that and I baby my car

We might have to have serious discussions about this on Sunday, hope you can get there Geoff. I believe that you might be at a Chevy swap meet???

tafc10- 02-17-2006
That's the plan, go to the Chev swap meet at Clarenden first then unload all the goodies back at the shop, drag the boss out of bed & drive down the coast.

That's the plan, we'll see what reality dishes up.

In my experience sometimes a little clutch slip is a good thing. These cars make no power and when they are on a sticky racing surface the engine can be pulled down a bucnh, almost stalling the motor, so a little clutch slip is a good thing.
Now, if you had an auto............................
