hi all,

ive been doing abit of reading on another forum i visit, there is a few members doing up replica's of bathurst cars or other famous racing torries.

so i was wondering did any body race HJ four doors. ive seen the one black HQ race car but not newer old moanro's

if there where race cars four doors does anyone have any pics of the paint scheme's?

There were a number of HJ Coupes raced by different teams such as HDT, Craven, Bob Jane & Phil Ward to name a few.

I have a photo of the HDT HJ coupe on my wall which is Peter Brock gunning it around Calder Park - I took it up to Bathurst & got him to sign it for me & he was astounded that there were any photos existing of the "Beast" as he called left.

He told me it was a poop to handle but he loved the grunt & he had 3 starts for 3 wins in it.

This Car is still around, it came to "Monaros at Bathurst" Sept 2004
and Also to "AFPC Nats" at Bathurst Jan 2006..

He also does the Odd Smaller Motorsport event in this HQ 4 Door

I think you will find that Most of this Model Monaro raced where HQs whether
it be Coupe or 4 Door.. Sometimes they put a HJ Front on them..
Most of them were "Sports Sedans"

Point in Case is "Big Pete Geoghean's" HQ-HJ Sports Sedan Coupe
I was Built as a HQ Coupe then they put a HJ Front on it, then Cams made them take it back to HQ, the reason being it was Running a "Chevy" and with Cams Rules (back then) you had to Run the Type of Engine the Body Shape was available with, and as we know there was no Chevys in HJs..

This Monaro then became one of the Phil Ward & Bob Stevens (channel 10) team Monaros.

yeh was pretty sure that no one did race hj 4 doors any where out was worth a tryi guess ill just do it up as abit of a street machine then o well
