Have Picked up my elderly nieghbours 0riginal HK Wagon .
His one & only car . Books & reciepts ect !!
Its in Nice 'unmolested' condition & has a couple of interesting
honest features which DADS HK had when it was new & I'd long
Forgotten , But, seeing again sparked my memory.

Its got a 'ZONE TOUGHENED' windscreen
& STILL has the Green & white Label on !
Haven't seen one of those for years..
Also has 0rig Holden Steering lock sticker on 1/4 window
As well as 'STACK' circle Dealer sticker on Back window
{looks like the ROTARY Logo}
NO Heater AT ALL
NO RADIO AT ALL still HOLDEN blanked
NO lights around the centre vent /cig lighter panel.
YES some door rust !! But it Drives like a beauty - 3 0n tree.
20 miles to the gallon - Better than my HT GTS 186'S'
Nice simple Ermine white & Fawn interior + Golf Ball Headlining too!

Thanks Vince Will KEEP you in mind .Mate I JUST couldn't knock the car
back & it was really a 'find ' - funny when your'e not looking you stumble onto something ....usually right under your feet !
At nearly 5 metres long its not hard to miss -Except when its been locked up for years in a ricketty garage !
Was working on it last nite- changed one welsh plug
& looks as if its had an oil leak
from the harmoic balancer since it left GMH Pagewood in '68...
Its a red motor 186 but you'd swear it was a Black motor from underneath....

You are right - didn't see any K T G wagons at AHD This year ...
In hind sight most wouldve been rusted OUT or driven to death UP & DOWN THE COAST with surf boards on their roofs.. by now.

I ASKED THE ORIG OWNER WHY A WAGON ?
Told me that the young salesman at STACK was
determined to sell him one rather than a sedan.
NEVER used it commercially or loaded it up with work.
IT Had a very easy life .

I am totally pissed off Mums friend has had HG Kingy for sale one owner and full logs books the lot and always serviced and looked after the way mum spoke of it was her baby was given to her from her uncle, well Jackie(mums friend) say she wants to sell it and cant see it go to a bad home, with 6 regos already and a shed full of cars I thought I am not even going there,


Anyway It was sold for the sum of $1000 last night was I mad she made out she wanted a lot more for it, Had i known she would have let it go for such a low price I would have club regoed it, well annoyed miscomunication and politeness of not asking ''how much'' cost me a lovely car, and some young bloke has bought it with all the history and books for a daily runner and general hack, she even put off local holden club on the assumtion she wanted big dollars for it

What a shame..
I 'd believe that you'd be the best person to look after that Kingswood .
I personally admired the HG SEDAN Style.
Mate what can you do? Its very frustrating - I myself have got
a few regos aswell & so picking up the waggon while a good opportunity
has made it harder to justify.
That he was my neighbour,I guess,HELPED A LOT !!

Have noticed many bargain popular 0ld cars around for sale -except GT & Monaros , Ofcourse ,Lately .
People just wont buy them .

Kids to day don't want "an old car" Maybe as we did .
Has to be a WRX Or Skyline ect ect.

Keep intouch with the Young buyer of the kinggy-
he might sell after the novelty has worn off 0r at least after he relises how much GAS even a std 186 will drink...when its driven as a hacK.
These cars are a handfull to drive for the inexperienced . esp 3 on tree no syncro

There was a HG Belmont Wagon at AHD this year, Low mileage, White and it won TWO Trophies... Always good to see HK-HG Wagons...

I am after a new target to get over it, I AM AFTER A PANEL VAN, H-K/T/G or Q,J,Z WB, prefer windoless and regoed but will loook at anything fairly tidy, motor size not a worrie will Gas it anyway, wanted for work truck Mini with roof racks it getting a bit tricky with high winds haha
