Tiff - you should write a letter pointing out your exemplary driving record etc etc. Might get you off either the points &/or the $$$... Worth a shot!

If you've been "lucky" for the past 22 years, a letter to the boys in blue would more than likely get you out of it... I have a couple of mates, with better driving records than mine, who have done this & had speeding fines overturned, claiming a slight lapse in concentration.

Mind you... you can only do it once...

Tiff there's no harm in writing a letter. I got off my 1st one, not the sencond though Just got my licence renewal too.... got to keep my GOLD licence. See it still proves I'm a good driver

The police officer reduced the severity of the penalty to 15kms over and suggested I write a letter asking for a caution, if not i will cop it sweet own fault but if there is such a thing as "stupid speeding " this was'nt it ie; it was'nt 133kms per hour in a 60 zone it was 133kms in a 100 zone in the bush,anyway should have known better but i gets up there so quick , the speed limit changed from 80ks to 100ks so i accellerated forgot i was'nt in the Barina!! Oh well have to give myself a smack
