Has anybody else heard about a new Monaro Club in Vic. called the 81837 Club ? Apparently its like the Falcon GT club in that you have to have a car that matches the club name, ie. HK 327 or HT/G 350.
Sounds like a good idea.
Anybody a member ? How do you join up ?

No mate - heard nothing & I have just read the MCCVic's May newsletter & nothing was mentioned there either.

Pffft, I agree wholehearedly with you Rds. To be exclusive you obviously have to exclude certain classes or people. ohmy.gif

Go ahead, have your own club if that is what you want. The best thing about this club as it stands, is that it is inclusive and even though there is a fair amount of banter and jocularity regarding various models, 2 door v 4 door, plastic v steel bumpered what is a Monaro and what is not, it is all in good fun and no offence intended to anyone. smile.gif

The grea-*test*-('") problems car clubs have with the greater population and car enthusiast is that very attitude of "elitism". There is a great perception out there that car clubs are full of w*nkers blink.gif , I am pleased to say that this is a social club first and a "car" club second, even though there is a great deal of knowledge contained in a few of the ugly melons in the club, runs are social, meetings are friendly and full of good humour.

I think the answer is to start a "6H8V2X" Club of The Blue Mountains. That way you can write your own rule book, and you'd probably be looking good for a bunch of end of year trophies too!

Me, I'm starting the HX-LE Club of Sydney Northern Districts. Only trouble I see is that the annual dinner dance might be a bit lonely. Still, I'm pretty good at amusing myself. rolleyes.gif

Love it, once again you lot have taken it all sooooo seriously.

&Rumour you wont need much room at the Christmas dance to stand there with one hand in one pocket and the other with the thumb in the pocket slapping the palm on your hip slightly out of time with the music, pushing your jaw forward by only moving the neck forwards and backwards with your tongue hanging out. Seen your dance moves before matey biggrin.gif

i remember asking my dads mate years ago why he wasnt a member of any car clubs (he had alot of very nice old fords), and it was for just that reason.. he saw the members as snobby and elitist.
im not a member of this actual club, but those of you who post on the forum are real nice. great to see some clubs with easy going people.

speaking of which, im also a member of the MR2 club.. and no one there thinks they're great at all.... as, well, they're all just old toyotas. smile.gif
i guess the wankers come with the more expensive cars (like the GT's etc).
