Guys - a good friend of mine is taking his Torana down to Wakefield on Wednesday 24/1/07 for a blast around the track. See
Litre 8 web pageI'll be going down (just to watch) and I just wondered if there was any interest from you guys in making a day of it?
See the
Wakefield Park web site for details of costs and stuff...
Cheers - Andrew
Seems as though I'll be heading down and strapping on the slicks for a day full of speed and fun.
Hmmmmm hope the 8L Torrie doesn't see me lagging behind too much
Anyone else brave enough to have a go??
I'd love to go down, but i'm not sure of a few things...
1) If i can get the car ready in time
2) if i can take the time off work
3) If the monaro would be worth punting around down there....
Now penny.. Youve been there before? And youve seen my car... It's a drag biased car ( infact.. my braking after WOT is so bad that i might NOT go just cause of that! unless its fixed.).
Would my car be worthwhile punting around the track? Would i just be in everybodys way ( except for the front straight?)
Having never done any circuit track work, what would i need for the day? ( i assume helmet and long clothing.. but licencing etc etc?)
Cheers! I might come down for a look if i can get the day off and the other things dont come together anyway!

Hey Tiny,
As far as I know, the license required is just a Wakefield license which is $50 for the year I think. It should be on the Wakefield web site (see my earlier post.)
Yes, long sleeves/pants and helmet are also required. If you're serious about going and having a blast, might be worth a call to Wakefield just to make absolutely certain...
I'm only going down to watch L8 and TM so you wouldn't be alone in the spectator area!
Cheers - Andrew
Cool stuff mate!
I honestly think that would be my better option at the moment. ( If i can get the day off!). It would take too much to set the car up for circuit work, and on the fresh motor i'm not ready to hammer yet!
Cheers!
